The event known as ‘Research meets Industry’ was a daylong event and included an introduction about the TSSG and the Security Research Unit, talks on “Data Privacy in User Oriented Services” by Dr. Dmitri Botvich and Ahmed Elmisery, as well as several presentations on current security projects including EffectsPlus, BiC, Aniketos, PASSIVE and Ceartas. Tom Curran, TSSG Commercialisation Specialist also gave information on the commercialisation opportunities that exist within TSSG. The event was attended by TSSG staff and ISI members.
The Information Security Ireland (ISI) was set up in 2009 by a group of six Irish ICT & Security Companies as a networking body to act as a central force in the industry. The ISI promotes interaction with technology firms, research institutes, academia and government. It promotes the industry worldwide by creating an awareness of Ireland’s track record and capabilities in this field.
TSSG’s Security Research Unit became members of the ISI in March 2012 and Security Research Unit Manager, Paul Malone said he was very happy with the first of what he hoped would be many events to be held by the ISI in TSSG.
