Dr Alan Davy, Researcher at the Telecommunications Software & Systems Group (TSSG) presented a paper at the IEEE Globecom 2012 Conference from the 3rd to 7th December 2012 in Disneyland, Anaheim, California, USA.
Globecom is one of two flagship conferences of the IEEE Communications Society. Each year the Globecom conference attracts about 3000 submitted scientific papers. A technical program committee of more than 1500 experts provides more than 10000 reviews, and from this a small fraction of the submitted papers are accepted for publication and presentation at the conference. Around 2,000 leading scientists and researchers and industry leaders from all around the world attend the conference every year.

Dr Davy presented a paper entitled “An Empirical Study of Effective Capacity Throughputs in 802.11 Wireless Networks” in the Communications QoS, Reliability and Modelling Symposium. IEEE Globecom is one of the most siginificant scientific event of the networking and communicaitons community, and publication of research results at this conference is very important and will allow Dr Davy to promote the research of the TSSG as a whole.

Dr. Davy is currently a research fellow with the Emerging Networks Laboratory at the TSSG.
