TSSG Researcher gives an Invited Talk at IBM Research in Haifa, Israel

TSSG researcher, Dr Lei Shi, who is currently a visiting researcher in Computer Science department in The Israel Institute of Technology (Technion), was invited to give a talk on “Revenue-maximizing Provisioning of Virtual Machine Sets with Placement Constraints in IaaS Clouds” at the IBM Haifa Research Lab. During the presentation, leading IBM experts and researchers in cloud computing technology were actively involved in the technical discussions. The presentation was also attended by researchers of other IBM research labs in Israel by videoconferencing.

The IBM Research Lab in Haifa (HRL) has conducted decades of research that have been vital to IBM’s success. R&D projects are being executed today in areas such as healthcare and life sciences, discovery, verification technologies, multimedia, active management, information retrieval, programming environments, business transformation, and optimization technologies. The Lab houses IBM’s biggest research center outside the US, and employs over 500 people.
