Dr. Alan Davy recently attended the 1st IEEE BlackSeaCom 2013 conference held in Batumi, Georgia on the 3-5 July 2013. The BlackSeaCom series of conferences are held in the countries surrounding the Black Sea. The goal of BlackSeaCom is to bring together visionaries in academia, research labs and industry from all over the world to the shores of the Black Sea. Here they will address many of the outstanding grand challenges that exist in the areas of communication and networking while having an opportunity to explore this exciting and dynamic region that has a rich history.
Dr. Davy was invited to organize and chair a special technical session on Nanonetworks along with co-chair Dr. Sasitharan Balasubramaniam. The session included seven presentations covering areas such as digital molecular communication in blood vessels, graphene-enabled wireless network on a chip, nano machine-to-neuron communication, bacteria based nano networks, and coding and modulation techniques for molecular communication networks.
