Wednesday, 8th October: Mr. Abhishek Sharma, Founder & CEO of Beyond Evolution Tech Solutions in Gurgaon, India, and the FP7 BIC International Advisory Group member, carried out a guest lecture at Waterford IT in the main auditorium on 11th July, 2014. The lecture was co-organized by Waterford Institute of Technology Telecommunications Software and System Group (TSSG), Trinity College Dublin, coordinator of the SFI International Strategic Cooperation Award (ISCA) Research Ireland India (RII) project and Irish Research Council.

The main themes of the three hour talk included the ‘Building of International Cooperation (INCO) model between Ireland & India for Research & Innovation and Building Industry Economic Engagements in the area of a mobile & cloud business’.  It is planned to have a follow up lecture with the view to incorporate these themes to the other countries engaged with an SFI ISCA project, for example, Brazil, China and Japan.

According to James Clarke of TSSG, “Mr. Sharma was the chief architect in the BIC project International Advisory Group of a sustainable model for working groups encompassing both bi-lateral and multi-lateral activities on a global scale, and this cooperation model seems well placed to be incorporated into the SFI ISCA projects. We are very pleased that the coordinator of the SFI RII project, Trinity College Dublin, and the Irish Research Council’s New foundations grant International cooperation long term strategy planning and development between Ireland and India for EU H2020 cooperation (INDO-IE) has enabled the beginnings of a lecture series on this important topic, that can benefit not only the Ireland – India collaborations but can also be incorporated into the other SFI ISCA projects”.
