On Friday 6th February the students of CBS School New Ross Co. Wexford were the first pupils to experience in Virtual Reality what it is like to travel to space on board a Saturn V Rocket. Irish start-up company Immersive VR Education with technical support from TSSG Waterford held a demo day to launch their Apollo 11 Experience which placed the students in the shoes of Neil Armstrong as he embarked on his historic mission to be the first person to walk on the moon.

Immersive VR Education plan to deliver Virtual Reality educational experiences across a broad range of subjects and can recreate any day in history, place students inside the human body or even let them explore the Solar System in their own private space ship.

The VR experiences were provided through Oculus Rift development kits and Immersive VR Education plan to introduce Virtual Reality into classrooms throughout the world in the coming years.
