Waterford Institute of Technology’s (WIT) Telecommunications Software and Systems Group (TSSG), Data Mining and Social Science research unit are delighted to welcome Talita de Oliveira Ferreira. Talitais currently works as an analyst at EMBRAPA, a renowned Brazilian state-owned Agricultural Research Company, specialising  in  Graph and Optimisation Theory.   Her visit is  part of a scientific collaboration between Dr. Michele Nogueira of Federal University of Parana, Brazil and TSSG’s Precision Dairy project http://www.tssg.org/projects/precision-dairy-2/ The primary focus of the PRECISION DAIRY project is to link ICT based disciplines with dairy systems research in order to develop real-time decision support systems for dairy farmers.  Furthermore, Talita is planning to join a PhD programme in the FU Parana  where she will research on the use of ICT in Agriculture under the supervision of Dr. Nogueira.  We at TSSG, see this visit as the beginning of a fruitful collaboration between TSSG, EMBRAPA and FU Parana, in the area of Agri-Science. We look forward to working with Talita over the coming weeks.
