CONNECT is the Science Foundation Ireland research centre for communications networking, services, applications and technologies. Its mission is to research, develop and innovate solutions to the communications challenges facing society. New broadband architectures, new cellular technologies and the Internet of Things is at the centre of its work.

VistaMilk Centre

The Government has announced funding for the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) VistaMilk Centre, bringing to 17 the total number of funded SFI research centres.

VistaMilk Centre will be hosted by Teagasc, in partnership with the Tyndall National Institute, Ireland’s national microelectronics institute, the Telecommunications Software & Systems Group (TSSG) at Waterford Institute of Technology and the Insight Centre for Data Analytics (at UCD, NUIG, DCU). VistaMilk therefore represents a unique collaboration between Agri-Food and ICT research institutes as well as leading Irish/multinational food and ICT companies.

FutureNeuro Centre

FutureNeuro is the SFI Research Centre for Chronic and Rare Neurological Diseases, hosted by RCSI.

Funded by Science Foundation Ireland and industry, FutureNeuro is the national centre dedicated to brain research. TSSG is an academic partner alongside RCSI, TCD, UCD, DCU, NUI Galway and internationally recognised neuroscientists, clinical neurologists, geneticists, cell-biologists, analytical and materials chemists  as well as a wider network of clinical neurologists and other collaborators based around the country. Together they will connect national and multinational industry with key academics and clinicians based in leading hospitals to provide diagnostic, therapeutic and eHealth solutions.
