Personal Summary

Deirdre Kilbane received a Bsc majoring in Experimental Physics along with a PGD in Education from University College Dublin (UCD). She gained a PhD in Mathematical Physics entitled ‘Searches for Signatures of Quantum Chaos’, from the National University of Ireland Maynooth. As part of her research in Atomic Spectroscopy, Deirdre was a guest scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the USA. She also spent two years as a Group Leader researching Ultrafast Nanoplasmonics in the Aeschlimann Laboratories in the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. Recently Deirdre was appointed Adjunct Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the School of Physics, UCD. She joined the Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning research unit in TSSG in 2018, working as a SFI Industry Fellow on applying AI to industry.
